Why are these myeloma cells deemed mature? They are so described because 1) chromatin is clumped and 2) nucleoli are inconspicuous. Though mature, these are not Marschalko variants. While Marschalko cells are also mature myeloma cells they exhibit a clockface nuclear pattern, features similar to that seen in some benign, reactive plasma cells.
