Ward 182

Case Slide No.:
15
Type:
TREPHINE
Description:
Biopsy: In this, the last photomic. of the case, 6 of 7 inclusions are glaringly obvious Dutcher bodies. The uppermost cell of the septet also contains two small satellite Dutcher bodies. The Dutch-er body in the lowermost myeloma cell occupies most of the nucleus. See comment.
Comment:
Two major features of this case were 1) the interstitial (dispersed) pattern of myeloma-cell distribution and 2) the plethora of Dutcher bodies in some areas of the biopsy. Unfortunately, PAS staining was not performed in this case.
P.S. The 7th not-so-obvious inclusion is also a Dutcher body.
END OF CASE.
